Terms of Use

1. About FotoDocxel

FotoDocxel converts photographed or selected printed documents and tables into editable DOCX or XLSX files using AI-based optical character recognition (OCR) and document-layout analysis.

• Capture or select images
• Analyze text, tables, and layouts
• Export DOCX or XLSX files
• Review and edit conversion results
• Save and share files

Processing is generally performed on the user’s device. The App does not promise availability on any particular device, operating system, distribution channel, or payment service.

2. Accounts

No FotoDocxel-specific registration is required. Purchasing paid features may require an account with the applicable app store or payment service.

3. Documents and Images Provided by Users

Users may process only documents or images they are authorized to capture, read, convert, store, and share. Ownership of those materials and their contents remains with the lawful rights holders and does not transfer to us by using the App.

Users are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions and properly handling third-party copyrights, trademarks, personal information, privacy, and confidential or trade-secret information.

4. Accuracy of AI, OCR, and Conversion Results

We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, fidelity, consistency, currency, or fitness for a particular purpose of results produced by AI models, OCR, image analysis, or automated layout reconstruction.

Results can be affected by focus, resolution, viewing angle, perspective, glare, shadow, lighting, compression, stains, folds, text size, complex tables, and mixed image/text content. Errors can occur even with high-quality source images, including incorrect letters, numbers, symbols or units; missing, duplicated, or reordered content; incorrect table rows, columns, merged cells, borders, colors, or alignment; omitted images; and unusable files.

We do not guarantee exact reproduction of an original document, consistent display across all editors and viewers, or suitability for legal, financial, medical, or other consequential uses.

Users must compare generated files against the originals, check and correct all important text, figures, dates, names, symbols, and formatting, and verify the result before saving, sharing, submitting, or relying on it. Do not make important decisions based solely on an App output.

5. Free Features

The App offers free functionality under the conditions displayed by us. The free version may display advertising. Free features, usage allowances, and other conditions may change to the extent permitted by applicable law.

6. FotoDocxel Pro

FotoDocxel Pro is a paid feature that removes advertising as specified at purchase. In principle, DOCX/XLSX conversion, editing, and export are not restricted solely to paid users.

Paid offerings may include one-time purchases and subscriptions. Product descriptions, term, price, currency, and conditions displayed before purchase apply. “Lifetime” or “permanent” describes the purchased entitlement to the extent allowed by law; it is not a guarantee that the service will operate forever.

7. Subscription Renewal

If an automatically renewing subscription is offered, it may renew and charge the next term under the billing cycle, price, and renewal conditions displayed at purchase unless canceled. Advance notice, pricing changes, and renewal conditions are governed by the seller’s policies and applicable law. One-time purchases are not subscriptions.

8. Canceling Subscriptions

Cancel a subscription using the account management or cancellation method designated by the app store or payment provider where it was purchased.

Uninstalling the App does not necessarily cancel a subscription. Access after cancellation is governed by the purchase conditions, seller’s rules, and applicable law.

9. Restoring Purchases

Where purchase restoration is available, it may require the original purchase account, the seller’s transaction record, and other verification criteria. Purchases are not guaranteed to transfer across different stores, channels, or platforms.

10. Payment and Refunds

Payment, receipts, taxes, cancellation, refunds, and other transaction conditions are governed by the applicable seller or payment provider and applicable law. These Terms do not restrict mandatory consumer refund or other statutory rights.

11. Prohibited Uses

The following are prohibited:

• Illegal conduct, fraud, forgery, impersonation, or other misuse
• Violating third-party copyright, trademarks, privacy, trade secrets, or other rights
• Obtaining, converting, or sharing personal or confidential materials without proper authorization
• Tampering with, bypassing, or interfering with App, purchasing, or advertising mechanisms
• Harming the App, third-party services, or other users

12. Storage and Backups

Users are responsible for storing, checking, managing, and backing up originals, generated documents, and settings. Data may be lost through device failure, user error, storage problems, deletion, or other events. Keep originals and back up important documents.

13. Third-Party Services

Advertising, distribution, billing, file sharing, and other features may involve third-party services. Their interruptions, changes, regional restrictions, incompatibilities, and errors can make features unavailable. Each third-party service’s terms apply.

14. Operation and Output Quality

We do not guarantee compatibility with every device, OS, or editor; uninterrupted or error-free operation; processing time; input photo quality; recognition accuracy; formatting fidelity; file compatibility; or fitness for a particular purpose.

We likewise do not guarantee that any AI model or other third-party technology will produce correct or complete results. Applicable third-party technology license information may be presented in App settings or another designated location.

15. Changes to the App

We may reasonably change functions, specifications, supported environments, and service conditions for improvement, maintenance, security, or changes in technology, third-party services, or distribution channels. Paid products remain subject to purchase conditions, applicable law, and seller requirements.

16. Suspension or Discontinuation

We may suspend or discontinue some or all services for maintenance, outages, security, force majeure, technology or third-party changes, legal requirements, or other reasonable causes. Existing paid entitlements will be handled as required by applicable law and purchase conditions.

17. Our Liability

We are not legally liable for recognition and conversion mistakes resulting from automated processing or source-photo limitations where no legally attributable cause exists on our part. Users must perform the review stated in Section 4.

Where loss is legally attributable to us, our liability is governed by applicable Japanese law. Only in cases of ordinary negligence, and to the extent legally permitted, liability is limited to ordinary and direct damages.

These limitations do not apply to our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, or to any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the Consumer Contract Act or other mandatory law.

18. User Violations

Users are responsible, as provided by law, for disputes arising from their breach of these Terms or infringement of third-party rights, except to the extent the cause is attributable to us.

19. Privacy

Information handled through the App is governed by the FotoDocxel Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms in compliance with law for legislative, service, or transaction-condition changes or other reasonable reasons. Where required, we will give appropriate notice of the changes and effective date.

21. Governing Law

Japanese law governs these Terms. The parties should seek to resolve disputes in good faith, and proceedings may be brought before a court having jurisdiction under applicable law. Mandatory user rights are not excluded.

22. Controlling Japanese Version

The Japanese version is authoritative. Where the English or another translation differs, the Japanese version prevails to the extent permitted by applicable law.
